Brisbane-based model Sam Champness takes us through her Australian winter favourites — the scents she loves, the places she escapes to, and the cozy rituals that make the cooler months feel entirely her own.
- What’s your favourite thing about winter?
I love changing my bedding to a thick doona and adding all the cuddly blankets on. Winter sleep is the best sleep.

3. What’s your go-to comfort meal or drink during the cooler months?
Ever since travelling to Korea, I have been obsessed with a traditional dish called “Budae Jjigae”, also known as Korean army stew. I also LOVE any ramen or miso soup — Asian fusion is ELITE. Then, for drink choice, totally a hot mocha. But definitely not the drink and food together Xx.
4. What scent, song or mood reminds you of winter?
Anything vanilla and warm sandalwood reminds me of winter. Bath and Body Works knows what they are doing.
